Assuming it's a typo and should be Wang Meng) had just escaped the village, thinking he could finally focus on building a house and settling down. But things didn't go as planned. He was caught in a lie when he refused to believed the head of the temple. "You're young and strong, you should seek长生 (immortality), not be tied to mundane things!" That was how he ended up in the Longevity Gate. The gate wasn't famous, but they were everywhere, never winning any fights but always finding themselves in the thick of things, whether good or bad. Now, he was sent to Qing Shi Town to investigate a strange phenomenon. It seemed that all the local children were becoming ill. It wasn't a serious illness, just a strange weakness that made them listless and pale. The elders of the town attributed it to the gods displeasure, but Wang Meng knew better. This was something he could handle.
